YouTube CPM to RPM Calculator
Model ad-only YouTube RPM from impression CPM, ad impressions per 100 views and creator share. See why CPM cannot convert to RPM with one fixed multiplier.

Your scenario
Prefilled values are hypothetical. Replace them with your own figures.
Use impression CPM, not playback-based CPM.
Includes non-monetized views in the denominator; multiple ads can push this above 100.

Modeled ad-only creator RPM
$4.40
The formula
Ad RPM = impression CPM × (ad impressions per 100 views ÷ 100) × (creator share ÷ 100)
There is no universal CPM-to-RPM multiplier. You need an ad-impression density and creator-share assumption, and the result is ad-only RPM. Amounts are USD, before taxes and costs.
Worked example
How the cpm to rpm calculation works
With a hypothetical $10 impression CPM, 80 ad impressions per 100 views and 55% creator share, ad-only RPM is $10 × 0.80 × 0.55 = $4.40. At 100,000 matching views this implies $440.
Impression CPM and playback-based CPM differ
Impression CPM divides advertiser spend by ad impressions. Playback-based CPM uses monetized playbacks instead. A playback may include several ads, so those metrics are not interchangeable. This tool accepts impression CPM only; using playback-based CPM with impression density would mix denominators.
Why ad impressions per 100 views can exceed 100
Some views have no ads, while others have more than one. The ratio of total ad impressions to total video views captures both effects. Enter 80 for 0.8 impressions per view or 150 for 1.5. It is not simply the percentage of monetized viewers.
What this modeled RPM excludes
The output covers advertising under your assumptions, not Premium, memberships, Super Chat or sponsorship income. Actual Studio RPM can include additional revenue sources. Shorts use a different pooled system and should not be modeled using a blanket 55% watch-page assumption.
Frequently asked questions
Is RPM always 55% of CPM?
No. That shortcut assumes one ad impression per video view, a 55% creator share and ad-only revenue. Actual impressions per view and revenue sources differ.
Can this tool convert Shorts CPM?
Not appropriately. Shorts Feed monetization uses a pooled allocation system. Use a measured Shorts RPM and matching engaged views instead.
How do I calculate actual RPM?
Divide your matching creator revenue by corresponding views and multiply by 1,000. Use the report-based RPM calculator rather than inferring a measured metric from assumptions.
